Professor Choudhury has been named as Fellow at the Jindal Global Law School’s Center for Health Law, Ethics and Technology (CHLET). Jindal Global Law School located in Sonipat, India is an international law school with a vibrant intellectual culture. Its research centers foster critical thinking across disciplines and  numerous fields of the law. The Center for Health Law, Ethic, and Technology provides an interdisciplinary space to explore a number of related issues.

Professor Choudhury will be part of the  Gender, Law and Society Studies (GLASS) group at the CHLET which is engaged with conducting legal and policy research on emerging issues of law and sexuality. The GLASS offers academic courses, holds stakeholder consultations and engages in litigation on questions related to these issues. GLASS has partnered with high-caliber international institutions such as The University of Chicago Law School and The University of Cornell Law School to conduct a variety of studies on a wide range of topics including gender and family issues through the lens of health and technology. While a resident fellow at Jindal, Professor Choudhury will teach a week-long workshop on India’s surrogacy market and its effects on gender, reproductive health, and reproductive rights paying special attention to how such gendered labor fits into broader development narratives. She will also conduct research on a number of family and gender law issues that will be included in her book, Beyond Borders: Human Rights and Transnational Gender Law Reform forthcoming from New York University Press in 2016.
