FIU Libraries have added the following new eResources to the collection:

Border & Migration Studies (Alexander Street Press)

Border and Migration Studies Online provides historical context and resources, representing both personal and institutional perspectives, for the growing fields of border(land) studies and migration studies, as well as history, law, politics, diplomacy, area and global studies, anthropology, medicine, the arts, and more. At completion, the collection will include 100,000 pages of text, 175 hours of video, and 1,000 images. In collaboration with an international board of scholars, materials were selected and organized around fundamental themes such as border identities, border enforcement and control, human trafficking, undocumented and unauthorized migration, among others.

Meet The Press (Alexander Street Press)

The Meet the Press collection opens up a wealth of information to libraries by making 1,500 hours of footage—nearly the full broadcast run to date—available online in one cross-searchable interface. Rather than digging through archives in assorted formats and locations, hoping footage will be available, users can explore this iconic series instantly from any computer or mobile device. Examine how coverage of immigration reform has evolved from the 1980s through 2012, find clear film examples of how media portrayed women and African Americans in the 40s and 50s, and view television’s first live satellite interview—held in 1965 with British Prime Minister Harold Wilson.
