FIU Law Dean R. Alexander Acosta has appointed Lisa Davis as interim director of the FIU Law Library. Ms. Davis assumes this role while Associate Dean for Information Resources & Director of the Law Library, Teresa Stanton is out on leave. Prior to the appointment, Ms. Davis was the assistant director for digital initiatives and scholarly communications.

Ms. Davis will oversee library operations, personnel, budget and reference support services. She will manage all digital curation activities and electronic resources for the library. Additional responsibilities include monitoring and implementing emerging digital technologies related to legal scholarship, teaching and research, including the implementation of eCollections @ FIU Law Library institutional repository, creating associated web content and grant writing.

“I am looking forward to a busy and fruitful fall semester,” Ms. Davis shared. “The FIU Law Library will continue to build its institutional repository, eCollections @ FIU Law Library and provide excellent support services to our faculty, students and staff. I wish to continue the high standards set by Dean Stanton.”

Ms. Davis received a Bachelor of Science in Biology and English from the University of Miami, a Master of Science in Library and Information Studies from Florida State University, and a Juris Doctor from the University of Florida.
