Biography:

Pushyamitra “Pushya” Veeramachaneni oversees Fulfillment and Collection Services at FIU Law Library. She received her B.S. and LL.B. from Andhra University in India and her M.A. in Library and Information Science from the University of South Florida. Veeramachaneni also acquired post-graduate diplomas in Public Relations, Industrial Relations, and Personnel Management from Bhanvans Institute in Bombay, India, and has completed the Legal Assistant Certificate Program at Florida International University.

Before joining the Law Library, Veeramachaneni served as the Circulation Supervisor at Florida International University’s Green Library for six years, supervising the daily operations of the Circulation department. Prior to that, she worked as a Paralegal for a New York based Internet Startup Company, Ecomdata, Inc., where she processed immigration documents for employees, prepared legal documents for the company on various matters such as corporate registration, patents, and trademarks, and assisted in administrative and personnel affairs. Veeramachaneni practiced Civil and Family Law in India for over three years.

Veeramachaneni is a member of various professional organizations, including the American Association of Law Libraries (AALL), Southeastern Chapter of the American Association of Law Libraries (SEAALL), Southeast Florida Library Information Network (SEFLIN), and South Florida Association of Law Libraries (SFALL). She has held various positions in these organizations, such as serving on the Bylaws Committee and chairing the American Association of Law Library, Asian Caucus (AALLc) from July 2021 to December 2021. Step down for personal reasons. The AALLc is a subgroup within AALL. Veeramachaneni was also a member of the Resource Sharing Standing Committee of the Florida Academic Library Services Cooperative (FALSC) and is currently serving on the Law Libraries Standing Committee of the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) from August 2021 to August 2025. Additionally, she has served on the Public Relations Committee of the Green Library at Florida International University.
