Congratulations to  2L’s Loune-Djenia  Askew and Cherly Lucien who recently won scholarships from The Wilkie D. Ferguson, Jr. Bar Association. Loune-Djenia Askew won the Vincent P. McGhee award and Cherly Lucien won the Book award made possible by a FIU Law alumna, TerryAnn Howell’15.
The Wilkie D. Ferguson, Jr. Bar Association is the oldest and largest association of Black attorneys in Miami-Dade County, Florida. This year the organization celebrate its 40th anniversary. From inception, the members have sought to remove the barriers to full inclusion into the legal community in Miami-Dade County. The Ferguson Bar continues this rich legacy by providing a voice for Black legal professionals and the communities they serve.
