Just two days before the October 10 commemoration of  World Day Against the Death Penalty,  the Miami-Florida Jean Monnet Center of Excellence, the Steven J. Green School of International and Public Affairs and FIU Law welcomed the European Consuls General in Miami and FIU Law experts for a discussion on European and International Perspectives of Capital Punishment.

Moderated by FIU Law Professor Noah Weisbord, the attendees engaged in a lively discussion with the panelists on the subject of the death penalty.

The event is part of a collaboration established between FIU Law Professor Megan Fairlie and the Miami-Florida European Union Center of Excellence. FIU Law now hosts an annual symposium that offers comparative perspectives on contemporary criminal law issues including gun control and the death penalty.
