Begun in 2013, FIU Law hosts an annual Decanal Lecture on Legal Education, inviting a dean at a leading American law school to talk with FIU Law students and faculty about the past, present and future of law, law practice, and legal education.
The Fourth Decanal Lecture on Legal Education was held on November 8, 2016 and featured Eduardo M. Peñalver of Cornell Law School. Dean Peñalver spoke about the increased focus on practice-ready skill building in legal education and how to balance the needs of graduates entering various fields in law against law school resources.
