Professor Rosenthal is the interim Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and the Director of the Legal Skills and Values Program. She joined the College of Law faculty in 2005.

After receiving her B.A., cum laude, in Russian and Post-Soviet Studies from Cornell University, Professor Rosenthal earned her J.D., cum laude, at the University of Miami School of Law, where she was a Dean’s Honor Scholar. She began her legal career in 1996, clerking for two years for the Honorable Jose A. Gonzalez, Jr., of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida, before moving into private practice as a litigation associate at McKenna & Cuneo (now Dentons) in Washington, D.C. After working in the private sector, Professor Rosenthal joined the United States Department of Education, Office of the General Counsel, specializing in administrative law and issues related to the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act. While practicing in Washington, D.C., she also worked with Project Citizenship, a pro bono program to assist elderly immigrants in obtaining citizenship, and taught Legal Research and Writing at George Washington University Law School. In 2002, Professor Rosenthal returned to Florida to work as an attorney for the School Board of Miami-Dade County. Over the course of her legal career, Professor Rosenthal gained substantial pretrial and trial litigation experience before state and federal courts and administrative agencies. She has been a member of the Florida Bar’s Education Law Committee since 2006.
