Samir Ghia is an attorney in the real estate development and construction group of Stearns, Weaver, Miller, Weissler, Alhadeff, & Sitterson, P.A.’s Miami office, where his practice focuses on real estate development, construction, and business and commercial disputes. Mr. Ghia has represented owners and developers in construction matters including contract negotiation and construction defect litigation, as well as public municipalities, insurance companies, and multinational corporations in matters involving negligence, product liability, and breach of contract.
Mr. Ghia earned his J.D. and M.B.A. degrees from Stetson University’s College of Law and School of Business Administration, respectively, and his B.A. from Columbia University in New York City. While attending law school, Mr. Ghia served as an intern in the Complex Business Litigation Division of Florida’s Thirteenth Judicial Circuit and worked in the compliance and legal departments of an SEC-registered investment adviser with $150 billion in assets under management. Additionally, Mr. Ghia has worked at civil litigation firms in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York City, and Florida, and served as in-house counsel for a technology consulting firm based in New York City and Las Vegas.
Mr. Ghia is also heavily involved in several professional and community organizations in Miami, proudly serving as Director of the Dade County Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Section; co-chair of the Dade County Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Section’s Pro Bono and Community Service Committee; Director of the Columbia University Alumni Association’s Club of South Florida; and interviewer for Columbia University’s Alumni Representative Committee.
