Westlaw Search Tip:  Where can I find a list of definitions in a state’s statutes?

A list of statutory definitions can be found for a particular jurisdiction using the statutes index under the Words and Phrases entry.  To access, go to the state’s Statutes & Court Rules page, click the link on the right under Tools & Resources for the state’s Statutes Index, and then click on W and scan the entries until you find Words and Phrases.

Click on the alphabetical range listed to see the list of defined terms that falls within that range.

All jurisdictions including the USCA have a Words & Phrases entry, except New York, that has a list, but it is entered in the index under Definitions.
