A major upgrade has been released to the PDF viewer and highlighting software in the PowerNotes extension. As long as you have the latest version of the PowerNotes extension (v. 0.35.6), which Chrome should update automatically, you should have a better experience with PDFs including:
- Almost all PDFs should now render with PowerNotes enabled
- You should be able to use PowerNotes to highlight almost all PDFs
- You should experience minimal PDF rendering errors
Note that PowerNotes captures the text that is native to the PDF, so character errors may exist if the PDF was OCR’ed poorly, and scanned PDFs that haven’t been OCR’ed won’t work.
If you come across a page where PowerNotes doesn’t work, just click on the pink “Feedback” button in the sidebar to let PowerNotes know.
