Professor Eric Carpenter’s article An Overview of the Capital Jury Project for Military Justice Practitioners: Jury Dynamics, Juror Confusion, and Juror Responsibility, available here , was recently cited by the Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces in United States v. Akbar, __ M.J. __ (2015).  The opinion is available here.

The United States Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces (CAAF) is the federal appellate court that provides civilian oversight of the military’s criminal justice system.  Appeals from this court’s decisions are subject to review by the Supreme Court.  This particular case affirmed the death sentence of an American soldier.
