Associate Dean for International and Graduate Studies Manuel Gomez and Professors Howard Wasserman, Cyra Choudhury, and Eric Carpenter represented FIU Law at the Law and Society Association’s Annual Meeting in New Orleans, LA, from June 2 -5, 2016.
Dean Gomez served as a discussant for Law and Development: Institutions, Market, Courts, Indicators, and Sustainability and presented Globalization and Adjustments in the Provision of High End Corporate Legal Services in Latin America During the Last Two Decades: The Case of Venezuela. Dean Gomez is also co-chair of the 2017 Mexico City LSA/RCSL International Joint Meeting.
Professor Wasserman served as a panelist for Ferguson’s Fault Lines Transcend Ferguson; Professor Choudhury presented Gender Law Reform and Development: Entwined Histories from the Colonial to the Postcolonial; and Professor Carpenter presented Commanders and Sexual Assault Case Attrition in the U.S. Army, 2008-2012.
