This conference will build on the tremendous success of our two previous editions, highlighted by inspiring keynote addresses by the Honorable Attorney General Thelma Aldana from the Republic of Guatemala in 2016, and the Honorable Siraksana Khoman from the National Anti-Corruption Commission of the Kingdom of Thailand in 2017. The Honorable Sérgio Fernando Moro, a federal judge from Curitiba, Brazil in charge of the case known as Operação Lava Jato, will be giving this year’s keynote address. This year’s conference will gather a number of practitioners and public officials from different parts of the world and high-ranking representatives of the governments of Argentina, Peru, Ecuador, Brazil, Guatemala and El Salvador, among others. Since our inaugural event in 2016, the FIU annual conference has become a key forum for anti-corruption leaders from around the world to meet to discuss and analyze the anti-corruption movement’s recent successes, as well as the challenges that remain. This year’s program will focus on recent anti-corruption developments and hot topics, including, civil asset recovery, cutting-edge investigative tools, forensic accounting developments and third-party litigation funding as a tool to even the playing field with well-resourced corrupt actors.
