The Florida Bar International Law Section Richard DeWitt Memorial Vis Pre-Moot was held on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at JAMS Resolution Center in Miami.  The ILS Vis Pre-Moot prepares law students from the largest law schools in Florida and beyond for the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot in Vienna. The daylong event includes several rounds between the competing law schools with practitioners from South Florida, and other parts of the world serving as arbitrators.  The Pre-Moot is named after the late Richard DeWitt, a prominent Miami-based international dispute resolution practitioner who supported this an many other educational initiatives to benefit future lawyers from Miami and other countries.  Mr. DeWitt was a friend of FIU Law where he participated as guest lecturer and competition judge during several years.
