The College’s evening division improved to No. 23 nationally and No. 10 among public law schools. Overall, it ranked No. 84 nationally and No. 45 among public law schools.
“We were disappointed at the drop in our law school’s overall rank even as our part time program’s rank improved, but this year’s result does not change the superb quality of our program of legal education,” said Dean Antony Page.
FIU Law recently achieved one of the best Florida Bar Exam results of the past decade on the July 2024 exam, with 90.5% of its graduates passing the test on their first attempt. The 2024 graduating class also reported among the highest employment rates in the College’s history, which will be reflected in next year’s U.S. News ranking.
“While rankings processes are often subject to volatility, particularly in areas where small data variances can have outsized impact in year-to-year results, what remains indefatigable is our faculty and staff’s commitment to training lawyers who will effectively serve the legal needs of Floridians throughout the world,” said Page. “Since 2018, no other law school in America has improved its reputation among lawyers and judges more than FIU.”
The College also earned high marks among public universities in multiple specialized areas, showcasing FIU’s commitment to providing skills essential for modern legal practice. The international law program ranked No. 16, while the health care law program earned the No. 44 spot. Additionally, the environmental law program ranked No. 45, and the dispute resolution program ranked No. 48. FIU Law’s legal writing program ranked No. 26, and its trial advocacy program ranked No. 20, further reflecting the strength of its practical training.
