Amber, who graduated from FIU Law in 2015 as a Dean’s Scholar, received numerous accolades during her time at the Law School, including the FIU Law Faculty Recognition Award, the Student Bar Association Student Service Award, and the Board of Advocates Outstanding Oral Advocacy Skills Award, and served as President of the Women’s Law Society.
Amber will be honored at The Florida Supreme Court on January 16, 2025, in recognition of her significant contributions to pro bono work and community service. Throughout her career, she has provided more than 450 hours of legal assistance to victims of domestic violence and child sexual abuse, advocated for those in need, and mentored aspiring lawyers and youth in foster care.
As Immediate Past President of Miami-Dade Florida Association for Women Lawyers (MDFAWL), Amber led efforts to support more than ten local charities, including Dade Legal Aid, Girls Inc. of Greater Miami, The Women’s Fund of Greater Miami, YWCA of Greater Miami, Lotus House, Chapman Partnership, Voices for Children, Casa Valentina, the Miami Diaper Bank, and the Children’s Home Society.
Amber was also the first FIU Law alumnus to serve as President of The First Family Law American Inn of Court, an organization dedicated to the advancement of professionalism and scholarship in Family Law. Under her leadership, the chapter achieved Platinum Status for the first time in its history and was recognized at the United States Supreme Court, a testament to her exceptional leadership and commitment to advancing the legal profession.
