Professor Rosario Lozada has been honored with the 2025 AALS Section on Balance & Well-Being in Legal Education Annual Award for her contributions and leadership integrating well-being into legal education.

As the inaugural Chair of the AALS Section on Balance and Well-Being in Legal Education, she helped expand the Section’s mission and played a key role in incorporating well-being practices into ABA Standard 303(b)(3). Her work has led to the Section’s innovative programs addressing mindfulness and professional identity formation.

At FIU Law, Professor Lozada pioneered courses such as Mindfulness & the Law and Professional Identity & Well-Being Practices and co-developed the Well-Being at FIU Law program, which received the ABA’s E. Smythe Gambrell Award in 2021. At the state level, she serves on the Florida Bar’s Mental Health and Wellness Committee.  Her work continues to shape discussions on well-being in the legal field.
