On Dec. 5 and 6, Professor Eric Carpenter taught at the Arizona Public Defender Association’s Capital Voir Dire Conference, including presenting a class titled, “Identifying Venireperson Predispositions.” More than 60 public defenders and paralegals received training on the Morgan method of voir dire, which is a capital-specific method of voir dire based on social and cognitive psychology and informed by the findings of the Capital Jury Project. Professor Carpenter has been a faculty member of the National College of Capital Voir Dire since 2011.
