If you are working at an internship this summer and want to continue to use your own Lexis or Westlaw account, you’re in luck! Here is the summer access policy for Lexis and Westlaw:
Lexis+ :
Lexis is providing full access to Lexis+® through students’ law school ID throughout the months of May, June, July and August. Continued access includes tools, search history and the same exclusive content and practical guidance they have relied on all year long, regardless of where they work.
Lexis also offers continued access to Spring 2023 graduates through December 31, 2023! Email Lexis rep. Sarah Valdez with questions.
Westlaw:
Returning FIU Law Students can use Thomson Reuters products, including Westlaw, Practical Law, and Practice Ready Solutions over the summer for non-commercial research. You can turn to these resources to gain understanding and build confidence in your research skills, but you cannot use them in situations where you are billing a client. Examples of permissible uses for your academic password include the following:
- Summer coursework or any educational research
- Research assistant assignments
- Law Review or Journal research
- Moot Court research
- Non-Profit work
- Clinical work
- Internship/Externship sponsored by the school
