Congratulations to 3L Benjamin Zavelsky on being selected by the Labor and Employment Law Section of the Florida Bar as their 2022 scholarship recipient.

At FIU Law, Benjamin most recently served on the FIU Law Review as a Staff Editor and was selected to be an Executive Articles Editor for this year’s issues. He is currently a Research Assistant for Professor Thomas Baker and a member of the Jewish Law Students Association and the Public Interest Network.

Benjamin’s interest in labor and employment law stems from the complex statutory and policy issues involved in its practice.

“I chose to study law because it intersects with the economy, family, politics, culture—it is evident everywhere,” said Benjamin. “Being a lawyer is a privilege that will offer me the opportunity to navigate a legal system that is near impossible to navigate for most non-lawyers. A great lawyer can work miracles for clients, and I hope to do the same.”

This summer he will be clerking at Levine Kellogg in their complex commercial litigation practice group.
