Congratulations to 3L Jordan Johnally who was selected as the recipient of the H.T. Smith Legal Services of Greater Miami Fellowship for the 2022 academic year. In the Fall 2021 semester, Jordan was also a recipient of a fellowship through the Gwen S. Cherry Black Women’s Lawyers Association with Legal Services. The H.T. Smith Legal Services of Greater Miami Fellowship was established as a rewarding opportunity for law students who are part of traditionally underrepresented minority groups to become actively involved in the Legal Services organization gaining valuable practical experience to challenge and develop their skill set as rising legal professionals.

For over thirty years, the Gwen S. Cherry Black Women Lawyers Association (GSCBWLA) has addressed the concerns of the South Florida community with an emphasis on the legal, social, economic, and political needs of the Black community, and GSCBWLA’s collaborative efforts with Legal Services, is to offer law students who have demonstrated not only academic strengths but also expressed a commitment to public interest to work alongside the many dedicated and accomplished legal professionals who are part of the Legal Services of Greater Miami team. Jordan is Jamaican born and is the current Vice-President of the Caribbean Student Bar Association, a campus organization that has thrived to bring community awareness to the socio-cultural contributions and accomplishments of the Caribbean diaspora.
