Congratulations to Leidy Perez-Davis ’15 who recently accepted a position at the White House Domestic Policy Council as the Special Assistant to the President for Immigration.

As an undergraduate, Leidy studied political science at the University of Central Florida and always had an interest in public service work. After graduating, she decided to attend Florida International University’s College of Law, where she pursued her passion for immigration law. As a Venezuelan immigrant and first-generation high school and university graduate, she wants to continue to use her degree and experience to serve her community.

Leidy credits FIU Law for preparing her to become the lawyer that she is today. “What I have always known to be true is that I could not have achieved this milestone without the guidance and support of my professors at FIU Law,” said Leidy. “They believed in me even when I did not believe in myself, and I am grateful that several of them continue to be a guiding light for me and my career.” She aspires to continue to grow her career in the law and policy space and wants to continue to focus on what she is most passionate about, immigration law.
