From June 17-19, 2019, Professor Eric Carpenter taught at the Arizona Public Defender Association’s capital voir dire training event in Tempe, Arizona. More than 50 defense counsel, mitigation specialists, and paralegals from the Arizona public defender system received training on the Colorado method of voir dire, a capital-specific method of voir dire that is based in social psychology and informed by the findings of the Capital Jury Project. Professor Carpenter has been a faculty member of the National College of Capital Voir Dire since 2011.
