Students once again packed the small courtroom to hear trial lawyers David W. Grossman, Florida Bar Board Certified in Civil Trial and a partner at Simon, Reed & Salazar, and Raymond V. Miller, of counsel to Gunster, discuss the practical realities of lawyering under pressure and the crucial nature of keeping your wits about you, even when it feels like all else is failing.
Why Civility Matters is part of ABOTA’s ongoing mission to instill in the legal profession the importance of maintaining professionalism in the “real world” of criminal and civil litigation.
“Civility is critical to our mission,” said Professor H.T. Smith, founding director of the FIU Law Trial Advocacy Program. “Indeed, our program motto is passionate principled advocacy.”
Through its award of student scholarships each year, ABOTA remains a prominent supporter of the FIU Trial Ad Program, as it aims profession-wide to preserve our jury system and elevate standards of integrity, honor, and courtesy.
