On September 27, 2018, during a faculty convocation ceremony presided over by FIU President Mark Rosenberg, Provost Kenneth Furton and Vice Provost Meredith Newman, Professor Charles Jalloh was recognized for “outstanding research” in the field of international law in the Excellence in Research and Creative Activities category. Professor Jalloh, who is a member of the UN International Law Commission and was elected by his peers as chair of its Drafting Committee for the 70th (2018) session, is a leading expert in international criminal law and the Fulbright Lund University Distinguished Chair in Public International Law at Lund University in Sweden for the 2018-2019 academic year.
