(MIAMI, Florida, September 6, 2018) FIU College of Law Professors H. Scott Fingerhut and H.T. Smith have been honored once again for inclusion in the 2019 — 25thAnniversary — edition of The Best Lawyers in America.

Recognized for their courtroom prowess as trial lawyers, Best Lawyers highlights the top 5% of practicing attorneys in the United States and is the oldest and most respected peer-review publication in the legal profession.  For more than three decades, in almost 70 countries, Best Lawyers has earned the respect of the bar, media, and public as the most reliable, unbiased source of legal referrals anywhere.

“We teach our students to demonstrate a consistent commitment to excellence as Trial Lawyers-in-Residence,” Professor Smith said.  “As mentors and coaches for our students, Scott and I strive to lead by example.”

Professor Smith is the Founding Director of the Trial Advocacy Program and teaches Advanced Trial Advocacy and Trial Advocacy.

Professor Fingerhut serves as Assistant Director of the program.  He teaches Trial Advocacy, Pretrial Practice, and Criminal Procedure.

The two professors also lead FIU Law’s champion Trial Team.
