On Friday, March 2nd, the FIU Law Black Law Student Association (BLSA) supported by DiscoverLaw and FIU admissions hosted North Miami Senior High School Law Club at FIU Law for “Law Student for a Day.” The students participated in a simulation where some were Judges, Congressmen, a President, Defense Counsel, and a State Attorney. A case was simulated based on the fourth Amendment- whether a search was reasonable. We had three Judges, two Defense Counsel, and two State Attorneys. Afterwards, the students broke into sessions where they discussed different law topics including: Torts, Contracts, Death Penalty, Second Amendment, Environmental Law, and Miranda rights.
