Prof. M.C. Mirow has recently published a chapter entitled “Spanish Courts” in Florida’s Other Courts: Unconventional Justice in the Sunshine State (Gainesville: University Press of Florida, 2018) edited by Robert M. Jarvis. The chapter describes the work done by these courts during the first and second Spanish periods in Florida from 1565 to 1821.
