Professor H.T. Smith, founding director of FIU College of Law’s Trial Advocacy Program, and president of H.T. Smith, P.A., in Miami, was recently appointed to the Federal Magistrate Judge Merit Selection Panel for the Southern District of Florida.
The panel will recommend candidates to fill the seat of retiring Magistrate Judge William C. Turnoff and make a recommendation regarding the reappointment of Magistrate Judge Jonathan Goodman.
Professor Smith teaches Trial Advocacy and Advanced Trial Advocacy, and heads FIU’s champion Trial Team.
