FIU College of Law Alumna, Romy Jurado ’11, has been selected by Florida Super Lawyers as a Rising Star for a second year in a row.

Romy B. Jurado grew up in Peru and moved to Florida at the age of 11. Romy received both her bachelor’s and law degree from Florida International University. During law school, Romy served as a federal judicial intern to the Honorable William M. Hoeveler at the U.S. District Court in Miami, Florida.   She was a recipient of the Stearns Weaver Miller Fellowship and earned a scholarship from the Florida Association for Women Lawyers.

Romy has been a member of the Florida bar since 2011 and is now an experienced business law and immigration attorney. In 2014, Romy became one of the founders of Jurado & Farshchian, P.L., a boutique law firm with clients worldwide that practices real estate law, probate law, business law, and immigration law. Soon after, her entrepreneurial vision led her to form Marina Title, LLC, a title company. Romy has become very involved in the nonprofit sector as well. She is the President of Club Amazonas USA, a charitable organization that takes Doctors to the Amazon region of Peru to provide medical assistance to those children and adults in need. Also, she is the President of Cattorneys At Paw, Inc., a non-profit corporation that aims to save as many cats as possible from hunger, disease, and homelessness.

Romy has also mentored new entrepreneurs through her affiliation with SCORE and has educated young minds as an adjunct professor for the paralegal program at Miami Dade College. She continues to educate minds of all calibers by speaking at conferences and educational seminars as a certified speaker for real estate boards, commissions, and other organizations throughout the state of Florida.
