Rising 3L FIU Law student receives scholarship from South Miami Kendall Bar Association

Rising third-year law student, Daniel Blackman, received the South Miami Kendall Bar Association’s 2014-15 Law School Student Scholarship.

The annual rotating scholarship is made available to Florida International University, St. Thomas University, University of Miami and Nova Southeastern University law students who are entering their third year. The criterion is based on the applicant’s financial need, academic achievement and extra-curricular activities within the community.

For Blackman receiving a scholarship from the South Miami Kendall Bar Association would allow him to pursue his goals of working in education law and will give him the opportunity to further hone his skills in both education and law.

The South Miami Bar Association was created to provide legal assistance to the community, and offer support and guidance to lawyers in the area. It has developed into one of the main support systems for many indigent and otherwise needy individuals through its many Pro Bono Programs. The Pro Bono Clinics have provided free legal support to members of the community and allowed legal access to thousands of individuals with guidance from its members.
