The FIU College of Law has developed a scholarship matching program that will provide support for students recognized as a Dean’s Scholar. The College of Law will match a gift of $7,500 per year, for three years, thus providing a student a near-full scholarship of $15,000 per year. The scholarship would be named the First Generation Fellowship.
The First Generation Fellowship will be awarded to a Dean’s Scholar based on merit and professional potential. The recipient will be paired with a mentor from the legal community and will benefit from an academic support network designed to promote retention, success and future employment.
Benefits for the donor include:
- Annual reception for scholarship recipients and donors;
- Recognition of the First Generation Fellowship in the Commencement program;
- Recognition on the College’s Web site;
- Scholarship announcement sent to approximately 3,000 applicants.
