Sailaja Tumrukota received her M.A. in English Literature from Andhra University, India. While working full time as Serials Manager at University of Miami Law Library, she pursued for higher studies and received her M.L.S. from University of South Florida.

She has 20 years of library experience in both main and law libraries, working in various capacities. She worked as the Statistical and Financial Manager supervising the staff and student assistants in the Interlibrary Loan department of University of Miami, Otto G.Richter library for 7 years and prior to that in Public Services including Circulation and Reference. She also worked as the Serials Manager at University of Miami Law Library overseeing the daily operations of the department.

Before coming to Florida International University - Law Library, she has worked as the Access Services Coordinator managing the Circulation, Reserve, Media -Center and Interlibrary Loan/Document Delivery services at St. Thomas University Law Library.

At Florida International University - Law Library, she manages and supervises the Acquisitions and coordinates the library resources budget in close consultation with the Director of the Library. She oversees and monitors the daily operations of the Serials department in ordering and receiving materials and making them available to the patrons in a timely manner.

She has served as the Treasurer and later on as the Secretary of the Dade County Library Association. She also participated in the SEFLIN ILL committee.
