Jeff Bowen received his M.L.S. from the University of Maryland, College Park and a B.A. in History from Baylor University where he was inducted into the Phi Alpha Theta history honor society. Mr. Bowen comes to FIU from Georgetown University Law Center Library where he worked for the past six years as the Serials and Special Formats Cataloger. Overall, he has over 11 years of experience in libraries and archives.
At Florida International University College of Law, he manages the Cataloging Unit in the Technical Services Department.
Mr. Bowen has been published in the SEALL newsletter and online. He is a member of the American Association of Law Libraries (AALL) and the American Library Association (ALA) and has served on the Steering Committee of the Mid-Atlantic Innovative Users Group as treasurer, as co-chair for the Arrangements Committee of the Law Librarian’s Society of Washington, D.C. (LLSDC), as a member and as co-chair of the AALL Indexing Periodicials Advisory Committee, as chair of the AALL TS-SIS Membership Committee and as a member of the AALL TS-SIS Cataloging and Classification Committee.
