Lisa Davis is the Digital Initiatives Law Librarian at the Florida International University College of Law Library. She develops and manages the Law Library’s online resources, including content creation and provision of technologically innovative digital services. Ms. Davis is responsible for disseminating the scholarly products of FIU College of Law faculty and students through open access publishing. She also provides faculty and student reference support services.
Prior to joining the FIU College of Law Library, Ms. Davis was a reference librarian and manager at the Miami-Dade Public Library System for four years. She is a member of the Florida Bar. Ms. Davis represented the State of Florida as an Assistant Attorney General in capital and criminal appeals for more than two years, and served as a Trial Court Staff Attorney for the 11th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida for over three years. She has experience in legal research and scholarship on a wide range of topics, was an editor for the Florida Journal of International Law and drafted judicial training materials. Ms. Davis’ other academic and professional pursuits include serving as a grant reviewer for the Institute of Museum and Library Services, developing online tutorials for database instruction, and utilizing Web 2.0 technologies and social media to disseminate information. Her interests include developing online resources to support academic scholarship, utilizing Web 2.0 and social media to disseminate information and increasing information literacy through digital technologies.
