Education

B.A., University of Notre Dame, summa cum laude
J.D., Notre Dame Law School, magna cum laude

Professor Lozada Schrier joined the Florida International University College of Law faculty in 2012. Schrier graduated from Notre Dame Law School, where she attended as a McCafferty Scholar. During her third year of law school, Schrier was awarded Notre Dame’s Distinguished Graduate Student Award for excellence in academics and service. Schrier began her legal career as a federal judicial clerk to the Honorable Edward B. Davis, former Chief Judge of the Southern District of Florida. She was subsequently awarded a two-year Skadden Fellowship to represent low-wage immigrant workers in South Florida on issues ranging from wage and hour abuse to civil rights violations.

Schrier served as assistant general counsel at the University of Miami from 2002 through 2006 and was a member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of College and University Law. Subsequently, Schrier joined the University of Miami School of Law faculty, where she taught courses in legal writing and higher education law. From 2010 through 2012, Schrier directed the Legal Communication and Research Skills program at the University of Miami School of Law, where she launched a new legal writing curriculum and led the program’s transition from an adjunct to a full-time teaching model. While serving as director, Schrier developed workshops and CLE seminars on persuasive writing, communication, and professionalism. She also presented at regional and national conferences on innovative approaches to teaching writing and communication in law school.

Born in Lima, Peru, Schrier is a native Spanish speaker. Schrier serves on the board of the Notre Dame Law Association as a constituency representative for Hispanic alumni.  She is admitted to the Florida Bar and the Southern District of Florida.
