Aurore Victor comes to FIU from the University of Miami School of
Law, where she was a Visiting Clinical Fellow with the Children
and Youth Law Clinic. Before entering law teaching, Professor
Victor worked as a litigation associate with two large law firms
in Miami, White & Case and Hunton & Williams, representing
several corporate clients in federal and state trial and appellate
courts and before the Securities & Exchange Commission.
As a litigator, Professor Victor also represented children
and families on a pro bono basis, most recently serving as an Attorney
Guardian Ad Litem while representing a five-year-old child in a
Florida state court proceeding. As a family law and corporate
litigator, Professor Victor has gained considerable experience in
all facets of civil litigation, including legal research, analysis,
writing, drafting, client interviewing and counseling, oral argument,
and negotiation. Before entering practice, Professor Victor
clerked for one year with the Honorable Alan S. Gold, of the
United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida.
As a Harvard law student, Professor Victor worked as a student
advocate with the Harvard Legal Aid Bureau, initially representing
indigent clients in family law, housing, and benefits cases, and
after she was appointed Co-Chair for the Aids Practice Group, representing
individuals with HIV/AIDS in estate planning and family law matters.
Prof. Victor earned her B.A.in political science from Yale University
with honors.
