Andre L. Smith comes to the Florida International University College of Law from the Pennsylvania State University Dickinson College of Law, where he was a visiting assistant professor of law. He obtained his B.S. (Economics) from the University of Maryland; his J.D. with Honors from Howard University, where served on the Howard Law Review; and his LL.M. from Georgetown University Law Center. While earning his LL.M., Professor Smith served as an Attorney-Advisor to the Honorable Maurice B. Foley on the United States Tax Court. He has also served as the Deputy Chief Operating Officer of the NAACP National Voter Fund, and Research Director (African American Outreach) for the Democratic National Committee. Professor Smith will teach in the areas of tax and administrative law.
