Dean Teresa C. Stanton is the Director of the Law Library and is responsible for the administration of Information Technology Services at the Florida International University College of Law. She joined the FIU law faculty in 2011.
Dean Stanton has worked at the Dade County Law Library and at the law school libraries of the University of Miami, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and the University of California at Berkeley. She has experience in providing reference services, in the development of domestic, foreign and international law collections, and in foreign, international and comparative legal research and instruction. At UC-Berkeley, she served as Director of Collection Services, responsible for all aspects of Boalt Hall’s substantial research collections.
Dean Stanton has taught courses in the fundamentals of U.S. law and in advanced legal research. She is a member of the Florida Bar, the American Society of International Law and the American Association of Law Libraries. She has lectured extensively on foreign and international legal research and has published in professional law library journals. Her interests include information literacy, digital collection development and translation and the law.
