Timothy M. Ravich is a Martindale-Hubbell® AV-rated business and commercial litigator who has been recognized as a “Leading Lawyer” by the South Florida Legal Guide and named among the top five percent of attorneys in Florida as a “Super Lawyer.” He is also a Supreme Court of Florida Certified Circuit Mediator.
Mr. Ravich served two terms as the Chair of the Florida Bar Aviation Law Committee and is one of only 34 lawyers in the state recognized as a “Florida Bar Board Certified Aviation Lawyer.” He earned an M.B.A. in Aviation Policy and Planning from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and currently teaches Aviation and Space Law at the FIU College of Law.
In addition to publishing a course book, Aviation Law after September 11th (Vandeplas 2010), Mr. Ravich has been a regular commentator for local, national, and international media programming featuring aviation and aerospace issues, including National Public Radio, NBC Universal, and China Central Television. He also has written extensively about aviation issues in peer-reviewed journals, including the American Bar Association Section of Litigation—Mass Torts, Southern Methodist University’s Journal of Air Law and Commerce, the North Dakota Law Review, the Florida Bar Journal, the University of Miami Law Review, and the Journal of the Transportation Research Forum.
Mr. Ravich is a cum laude graduate of the University of Miami School of Law where he was tapped into the Iron Arrow Honor Society, the highest honor attained at the University of Miami. During law school, he served as the Editor-in-Chief of the University of Miami Business Law Review and was elected to two terms as a senator of the Student Bar Association. Following law school, Mr. Ravich began his law career with the international law firm of McDermott, Will & Emery.
From 2008-2009, Mr. Ravich was the President and CEO of the Dade County Bar Association (“DCBA”), the largest voluntary bar association in the State of Florida, and he currently represents the DCBA in the American Bar Association’s House of Delegates.
In 2010, Mr. Ravich was honored with FIU’s Torch Award.
