Florida International University alumni Victoria Cueto ’09, JD ’12 and Alejandro (Alex) Sola ’07, JD ’12, have been appointed to the position of Committed Training Attorney (CTA) for the Miami-Dade County Court Division. The Miami-Dade Office of the State Attorney announced the appointment on February 1, 2013.
As CTAs, Cueto and Sola will be responsible for overseeing a County Court division including, ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the courtroom, and making decisions on many of the tougher substantive and procedural legal issues that arise in court on a daily basis.
They also carry the responsibility of ensuring that all new Assistant State Attorneys are properly trained and prepared for court. “I feel that helping new attorneys start their career as a prosecutor is a privilege,” said Sola. “I love my career as an Assistant State Attorney.”
Cueto shares Sola’s sentiments. “I am truly honored to have been selected for the position of Committed Training Attorney (“CTA”) of County Court,” she said. “I take pride in knowing that my legal education at FIU Law, particularly my experience on the FIU Trial Advocacy Team, allowed me to develop the leadership and organizational skills necessary to succeed in this supervisory role. I’m thrilled at the opportunity to give back to the State Attorney’s Office, and the community as a whole.”
