On-Campus Interview (OCI) Programs

The Career Planning and Placement Office (CPPO) looks forward to assisting employers in recruiting students and alumni for the fall and spring school year, summer and post-graduate positions. The CPPO utilizes a variety of services in order to assist employers in meeting their recruiting needs.

On Campus Interview (OCI) Program and Résumé Collect Program

We invite you to participate in our On-Campus Interview (OCI) and Resume Collect programs.

Our students are interested in opportunities with large, mid-sized and small law firms; corporations; state and federal judges; public interest organizations; and local, state and federal government entities.  For a complete list of interview programs available to FIU Law students, click here

You may request OCI participation or resume collection via Symplicity.  Please contact our office at lawcareer@fiu.edu or (305)348-8376 if you have questions about our recruiting programs, or if you have misplaced your Symplicity account log in information.

On-Campus Interview (OCI) Programs

Each fall, employers have the opportunity to conduct on-campus interviews with second- and third-year students for summer and permanent positions. In the fall, our OCI program is split into two (2) phases; Phase 1: early interview week in August and Phase 2: September through October sessions.  Dates are assigned on a first-come, first-serve basis (once slots for the August OCI phase are filled, requests will be moved to the September OCI phase). All interviews will be held at FIU Law.

We also offer a Spring OCI program that typically is held from February through April each year. Employers may request schedules to interview students from any class year during that program.

Resume Collect Programs

For those employers who choose not to conduct interviews at the law school but who are interested in receiving resumes from FIU Law students, we offer our Resume Collect Program. We will share information about your employment opportunities with our students, collect application materials and forward those materials to you so that you may review them and interview at your convenience.

Online Job Posting Services

If you are seeking to fill your summer, part-time, entry-level or lateral employment needs, we encourage you to submit a job listing on our web-based job posting system, Symplicity. This service is free for employers. You may create your own Symplicity account which will enable you to post your available positions or you may send the information to our office for posting via email to lawcareer@fiu.edu or fax 305.348.2301.

Non-Discrimination Policy

It is the policy of Florida International University College of Law that no citizen of the United States or any other person within the jurisdiction thereof shall, on the grounds of race, creed, color, gender, age, disability, sexual orientation, veteran’s status, or national origin be excluded from participation in or be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any program or activity of the University.  Employers who advertise positions through the Career Planning and Placement Office or participate in CPPO recruitment programs must read the non-discrimination policy and undertake to observe it.

Please be aware the Career Planning and Placement Office will no longer post unpaid internship opportunities for students to volunteer at private law firms. Recent guidance from the U.S. Department of Labor has led us to conclude that placing students in unpaid internships is appropriate only when it is part of a structured educational process for academic credit, overseen by faculty, and managed as part of our overall clinic and externship program.”
