Amanda Braun, third-year law student at the Florida International Univeristy College of Law, has been appointed to National Student Director for the American Bar Association Law Student Division’s Negotiation Competition Subcommittee.
A National Student Director participates in activities and performs specific tasks to build and improve the overall quality of the ABA’s Law Student Division Competitions Program.
Braun’s term began on June 1 and her responsibilities will include submitting regular reports and information about the competition for use with the Student Lawyer magazine, reporting NSD activities to the Division, and promoting NC at Circuit and Division activities and meetings through communications.
The appointment process is very competitive, with the Division receiving a high volume of exceptionally qualified applicants each year.
“I’m pleased that I have been appointed to the position,” said Braun. “Not only is it a personal accomplishment, but it is an honor to represent FIU Law on a national level.”
Braun joined The Children’s Trust in August 2008. In previous work with a number of private-sector firms, Braun championed organization change through process improvement and quality monitoring systems. While with the largest transportation and logistics company in North America, she managed the transition of work processes off-shore. She has consulted independently for various organizations, performing business-to-business market research and competitive analysis.
She earned her M.S. degree in Management from the University of Wisconsin at Green Bay and her B.A. in Child Psychology from the University of Minnesota.
