B.A., Florida International University George Corton is responsible for providing leadership to the College’s private fund-raising efforts. Mr. Corton is an alumnus of the institution, earning his B.A. in Political Science. As a student, Mr. Corton served as the Director of Student Lobbying during the institution’s push for a law school and football program. Upon graduation, Mr. Corton began his FIU administrative career working as the assistant in the Washington, DC Office of Federal Relations. After the lobbying experience in DC, Mr. Corton returned to Miami and began his career in development working as a junior development director and staffing the Council of 100. After one year, Mr. Corton was promoted to Assistant Director of Corporate Relations providing leadership to the institution’s corporate fund-raising efforts. Today Mr. Corton serves on numerous advancement and university-wide committees. Mr. Corton also serves as President of the Pi Kappa Phi Miami-Dade Alumni Chapter.
