MIAMI (October 18, 2011) – The FIU Law Investor Advocacy Clinic team wins top spot in first-ever appearance at national securities dispute resolution negotiation competition.

The Annual Securities Dispute Resolution Triathlon sponsored by St. John’s Law School and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) was held at the Hugh L. Carey Center for Dispute Resolution in New York City.

Hispanic Business ranks FIU Law among Top 5 law schools in nation

MIAMI (September 27, 2011) — Hispanic Business magazine released its annual list of top schools across the country and FIU Law ranked fourth among law schools.

“Having just learned that FIU graduates achieved the highest bar pass rate in the state of Florida, we are particularly proud to be the law school that has the highest percentage of Hispanic graduates in the nation,” said Dean R. Alexander Acosta.

FIU Law Grads Achieve Top Bar Pass Rate in Florida

MIAMI (September 19, 2011) – The Florida Board of Bar Examiners has released the results of the July 2011 Bar Exam and FIU Law graduates have achieved the top bar passage rate among Florida’s eleven law schools. The FIU Law bar passage rate of 89.6 percent substantially exceeded the statewide average of 80.1 percent.

“On behalf of our Faculty, Administration and Staff, I congratulate our recent graduates for their outstanding accomplishment. FIU has consistently ranked at or near the top in Bar passage. Today’s results are a continued tribute to the hard work and dedication of our students and the skills of our faculty.” said Dean R. Alexander Acosta

The 3rd District Court of Appeal will be holding the official swearing-in ceremony for Florida Bar inductees on Monday, October 3, 2011.
